An interesting month as Guitar Hero: World Tour is nowhere to be found at all for any system. Sure, it released on the 27th, but it's usually a surefire first day boom for each subsequent game. Make note that the NPD doesn't release individual sales numbers to the public so hopefully LittleBigPlanet among others will have good legs.

SuperPhillip's Favorite VGMs - "200! And That's Not Just How Much Yo' Mama Weighs!" Edition

No, no. I'm just kidding about the title. Sure was an attention-grabber though, no? (Don't beat me up.) This week it's a minor celebration for 200 videos dedicated to my favorite VGMs. Hope you're enjoying the ride, and please leave some feedback in the comments section! Not only do I have five videos to share, but there's also a brand new playlist of volumes 51-100 to reacquaint yourself to. Today we're heading to the futuristic world of Captain Falcon and company, paying a visit to some old reptilian friends, catching up with Edea, meeting up with Rena and Claude, and capping off the second 100 volumes with some Kingdom Hearts II. Let's get into it.

===

I'm doing two tracks again as they're related and from the same game. It's Super Arrow's theme followed by his wife's, Mrs. Arrow's theme from F-Zero GX for the Nintendo Gamecube.

This track name sounds more majestic than it is. It plays during the stage Sky Palace, but all it really is a fight on a neon-lit rooftop. It's from TMNT: Tournament Fighters the SNES version, and it serves as Michaelangelo's stage. Konami certainly knew how to take advantage of the Super Nintendo's sound chip, don't you think?

"Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" is one of the main themes of Final Fantasy VIII used mostly for Edea, the sorceress. The song is from the album of the same name-- an orchestral collection of various FFVIII themes. It's very good for both fans of the game and even those who like melodic, orchestral music. I'm in both camps, so I really enjoyed the album.

This track comes from the upcoming Star Ocean: Second Evolution PSP game which is a remake of the original PS1 Star Ocean: The Second Story. The melody is actually Rena's theme, but in this version of it, it's backed by pan flute and a majestic harmony, perfect for a cozy and quaint forest.

If you've been following my list of VGMs for awhile now, you certainly know how much I enjoy listening to a full orchestra as well as a choir. Well, this ending theme of Kingdom Hearts II has both! I can't think of a better way to cap off the second hundred VGMs than this. Hope you get a kick out of it.

We've reached 200 videos, so let's crank out the second compilation of my favorite VGMs. In this edition we journey through song and sound, Symphonia to Galaxy with volumes 51 to 100! Note: I couldn't get these doodads in order of volume, but it really doesn't matter. The experience is still the same!

If you're not still angry about that crack about yo' mama, check out my Youtube channel as it's there that you can find all of my past and future volumes! Until next week, stay safe, and game on!

Call of Duty: World At War - Wii Version Online Play

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you. I do not care about Call of Duty: World At War for any system other than the Wii, and even then it's a passive interest at best. Why? Because Infinity Ward has no role in this game, and Treyarch has a sketchy record to say the least. I feel World At War will be rather average or worse, mediocre. However, I do love playing FPS games on the Wii when they control well. Metroid Prime worked very well, and Medal of Honor (though not the greatest game and level design) performed even better. I'm not hoping for much out of Treyarch on the Wii, but we'll see how they do. And even if they fail, it's not as if most of us will lose sleep over it with The Conduit coming together splendidly. The following is some online gameplay from the Wii retail version recorded by a fellow gamer.
