SuperPhillip's Favorite VGMs - August's End Edition

SuperPhillip's VGMs are saying adieu to August with some more Mega Man music. This week we're listening to Mega Man X8, 7, and 8 as well as Mega Man ZX and ZX Advent. Enjoy.

v386. Mega Man X6 - Commander Yammark's Stage

Mega Man X6 and the next game were low points of the series. The levels were more cheap than challenging, some were just hopelessly repetitive like Blaze Heatnix. Regardless, the game was still enjoyable for an X fan. Commander Yammark's Stage takes place in the Amazon. Thus, here's a mellow track to go with it.

v387. Mega Man X7 - Bomb Recovery - Central Circuit Stage

The actual composer list was too big to list, so here they are: Yuko Komiyama, Shinya Midnight Okada, Seiko Kobuchi, Akemi Kimura, Makoto Asai, Teruo Konishi, Shuichi Mizohata, Noriyuki Iwadare, and Takuya Miyawaki. It took that many people for this game? Really now? Mega Man X7 was a-- oops! Out of time because of the composer list!

v388. Mega Man X8 - Booster Forest

After the bad taste left in my mouth from Mega Man X7, X8 brought the series back to quality with 2 1/2-D style levels as opposed to the fully 3D ones that infested X7. This song plays during Bamboo Pandamonium's stage, Booster Forest. It's a new-age rock song.

v389. Mega Man ZX - Snake Eyes (Arranged)

The theme you hear is that of Slither Inc., the final level of the game. This is the special arranged version of the track. While ZX was enjoyable, the next game is even more so. Nevertheless, Snake Eyes starts off with synth, but I love it when the melody is played by the electric guitar. All kinds of awesome.

v390. Mega Man ZX Advent - Slam Down (Arranged)

Slam Down is the boss theme of Mega Man ZX Advent for the Nintendo DS. Dear Capcom, please forget about Star Force (aka Battle Network redux) and work on another sequel in the ZX series. Okay. Thanks. This is the arranged version of Slam Down featuring real instruments, heavy metal, and jarring percussion.

Next week kicks off with Final Fantasy. See you then!
