A long time ago (two years to be exact) I started this blog. It was originally just a bunch of reviews posted on a forum until I create this blog as you see it today. Now there's news, previews, videos, editorials, lists, articles, and yes, the old standby, the game review on the site. I aim to continue to create unique content separate from what the other guys are doing. I am proud of having you as my readers, commenters, and visitors on my blog. Thank you, and if you continue visiting, I'll continue to provide content.

Planet Minigolf (PS3) SuperPhillip's Shots
Planet Minigolf recently hit the PSN this past Tuesday for us lucky Americans. Since I'm feeling ill this week and have no desire to write much, I've put together this compilation of five or six cool shots I've performed in-game. You can save your best shots to Youtube from inside the game. Very cool if I do say so myself. Here's some of my favorite shots.

SPC Mailbag - June 2nd, 2010
E3 2010 is but two glorious weeks away. Today's installment of the SPC Mailbag is entirely made up of questions revolving around E3. There will be predictions, desired games, and favorite moments to be touched upon. Let's get right to it!
What are your predictions for this year's E3?
Right to Double Jeopardy, eh? Alright. Well, I'm no Nostradamus, and I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about. Nor will I see in the future if my predictions come true, but here goes:
Nintendo:
Big focus on Wii Party and new Zelda
Golden Sun DS secretly moved to 3DS
New Pokemon games will have some function with 3DS
Nintendo 3DS will be the final name and will come out this winter in at least one territory.
Metroid: Other M gets a lot of attention, too.
No mainline Mario game for 3DS launch lineup
Sony:
Move will focus more on casual games, and what core games there will be will underwhelm
Move will launch for $60 US in September.
LittleBigPlanet 2 will be a media darling as will Killzone 3.
InFAMOUS 2 will be unveiled formally.
PSP will gain new announcements towards its already robust catalog.
No new PSP to be announced/shown until TGS.
Microsoft:
Natal will impress.
Natal will cost $99 US.
Natal will release in November.
Rare will show off a new IP exclusively for Natal.
More gun games for Microsoft's userbase. SuperPhillip will roll eyes and groan.
So there you have it. Some "duh" responses, but others much more ballsy. It's sure to be an exciting E3 regardless of whether my predictions come true or not.

Review Round - Up - May
Super Mario Galaxy 2 ended our month in style.You can tell it's approaching the summer months as the number of reviews dwindles to a paltry handful. However, this month it was all quality instead of quantity with Super Mario Galaxy scoring SPC's first (or second?) perfect 10/10 score. Boy, was that game a blast to play! Then we had Monster Hunter Tri, also on Wii, scoring well with a 9.0, we took a trip to a simpler time in gaming with both Donkey Kong Country 3 (9.25) and 3D Dot Game Heroes (8.0) which received the lowest score this month. If 8.0 is the lowest score, we're not doing too badly! Finally, two perplexing puzzle games rounded out the proverbial package with Picross 3D (8.5) and a late-to-the-party review of Tetris DS (9.0)-- both for the Nintendo DS. I have several games planned for next month, but nothing concrete, so no hints this time around! Oh, heck. Maybe just one that you can be sure-ruken will be good. What a horrible pun. I apologize for that!
All scores are out of 10.

The marvelous of May has passed with higher-than-normal temperatures here in Central City. It turns out last month's Census was just as hot! Let's check out the results, shall we?

Asking which first-party would have the best E3 for 2010, the majority of votes went to Nintendo who has a new Zelda and handheld to unveil including some fresh new software. Second place, in close fashion with 38% of the vote, went to Sony whose Move might move some readers into purchasing one. That isn't to mention LittleBigPlanet 2 and Killzone 3 to be shown either! Finally, poor Microsoft only received 13% of the vote even with code name Natal in the works for this year's E3. Enough banter from me, let's check out June's Central City Census!
Some denizens in the game industry are saying that Japanese game developers are losing their touch. Do you agree? We'll solve this conundrum by putting it to a vote on which side of the world has the better game developers in your opinion-- East or West? Voting closes June 30th.

Dragon Ball Origins 2 (DS) - Second Trailer
Dragon Ball Origins 2 is shaping up quite nicely. In the sequel, young Goku is pitted against the Red Ribbon Army similar to his escapades in Revenge of King Piccolo for the Wii. Not only is Goku playable, but so are Bulma, Krillin, and Yamcha-- to name a few. Stay tuned for a full review when this game hits North American shelves sometime next month.
SuperPhillip's Favorite VGMs - Memorial Day Edition
Welcome to a special Memorial Day edition of SuperPhillip's Favorite VGMs. Today we're hitting one home for the troops out there with five new VGMs. It's not much to help the troops, but at least it's something! This week we have Final Fantasy series music, Endless Ocean: Blue World-- perfect for pool weather-- and songs from the Super Mario Bros. series. Speaking of oceans, let's dive right into some great music!
V566. Final Fantasy VI - Não Chora Menina
Não Chora Menina is a slow, somber, and sad vocal version of Kids Run Through the City Corner, the town theme from Final Fantasy VI. It's the perfect song to listen to when you're feeling down and depressed and wanting to slip further into a dark place. Not that I would know anything about that! Oh, no, no, no! ...Hold me~!
v567. Final Fantasy IV - Into the Darkness
This is the arranged version of the dungeon theme of Final Fantasy IV, Into the Darkness. It's from the Celtic album of Final Fantasy IV songs. Final Fantasy IV is probably my second favorite Final Fantasy game. I love the characters, storyline, world, and especially the music. Nobuo Uematsu really has his magic, doesn't he?

While Freshwater Chant is not the real title of this theme (the real name is Dúlaman), it does say exactly what this song is all about. It's a chant heard as you wade through a South American river home to such dangerous creatures as piranha, eels, and crocodiles! Endless Ocean: Blue World is a terrific game definitely worthy of your thirty dollars. Go ahead-- dive right in!
v569. Super Princess Peach - Ladida Plains 1
This bouncy and cute piece of music comes to us from the happy platforming adventure, Super Princess Peach. Would you consider this an overlooked or underrated game? Regardless, Ladida Plains is the very first world in Super Princess Peach. It's full of easy platforming, simple challenges, and pushover enemies. A great game that needs more attention!
v570. New Super Mario Bros. Wii - Volcano Theme
We head back to the Mushroom Kingdom with more New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Thie game scored a 9.75 out of 10 at SuperPhillip Central, and it won game of the year 2009. Some actually don't like this game which I say "haters gonna hate". Did you enjoy New Super Mario Bros. Wii? Regardless, this is the theme of the outdoor world eight levels. Sort of sounds like Death Mountain from the original Legend of Zelda, doesn't it?
