This Wednesday marks the autumnal equinox, the official end of summer and the beginning of fall/autumn. It will soon be time to rake those leaves into neat piles and go trick-or-treating for Halloween. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though. Instead, let's do our normal Monday routine, shall we? It's time for SuperPhillip Central's Favorite VGMs!
This week we have music from Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, Super Mario Bros. 3 for some old-school goodness, and then move to one of the VGMs' only imported titles, Jump Ultimate Stars! Finally, we round things up with music from Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
As always, simply click on the VGM title to go to its YouTube page, and if you want even more VGM goodness, check out the VGM Database.
v966. Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4) - Revenge Blues
I got the blues, dood! What can you say about a song with an exceptional sax with it besides "that's really freakin' awesome"? Not much, dear friends. Not much. This emotional blues theme has just what you need to rock your head back and forth with its steady rhythm and awesome beat.
v967. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Overworld
I've been mad busy designing levels in Super Mario Maker, and one of the level types you can do is in the overworld of Super Mario Bros. 3. Thus, my nostalgic memories of playing SMB3 returned to me, and made me have to add this song to the ever-expanding list of SuperPhillip Central's Favorite VGMs. Whether hearing it in 1-1 or the popular Kuribo's Shoe level, Overworld from Super Mario Bros. 3 is a highly memorable theme.
v968. Jump Ultimate Stars (DS) - Spirit of Hokage (Naruto Stage)
We don't get many import-only titles on SuperPhillip Central's Favorite VGMs, but here's one for you-- Jump Ultimate Stars for the Nintendo DS. This game takes characters from a plethora of anime series such as Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Naruto, and puts them in Super Smash Bros.-esque combat. As the name would lead you to believe, this rocking theme plays during the Naruto series' stage.
v969. Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon (Wii) - Something Called Trust
We move on to Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, a niche Wii game if there ever was one, offering the player exploration through a destroyed Tokyo, cautiously avoiding ghosts along the way. This tranquil and serene piano theme is a wonderful listen, don't you think?
v970. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS) - Battle / Zinogre
Battle with one of the more powerful monsters within Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate! You know this beast isn't messing around when it has a foreboding and pulse-pounding theme such as this. Take a deep breath, pick your shots, and make this towering behemoth fall.
