One of my most anticipated games of the summer is from a Mario spin-off series that hasn't had the most successful outings as of late. Mario Tennis Open was a game I personally enjoyed, but the use of Chance Shots turned off a lot of players. Meanwhile, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash on the Wii U was a bare-bones excuse for a full priced game, which seemed to only have been released to fill a hole in the system's paltry holiday lineup that year.
However, Mario Tennis Aces looks to be the real deal with an impressive adventure mode (complete with RPG leveling for Mario), 15+ characters, unique courts, new mechanics that can be turned off if you prefer a standard game of tennis, and much more. Mario Tennis Aces launches its serve on June 22.
